Docs is VerityWriter's long-form editor. Unlike tools that export flat images in a PPTX wrapper (looking at you, NotebookLM), every element in a VerityWriter Doc is a real editable component.

The generation flow
- New Doc → pick type, language, depth tier (brief/standard/comprehensive).
- Pick sources — investigations, canvas content, pasted text, or URLs.
- Blueprint — AI generates a TOC. Review and approve.
- Chapter generation — each chapter streams in with coherence checking.
- Edit freely — use the editor + AI chat for revision.
- Export — PDF, DOCX, or ZIP.
The AI chat panel
Every Doc has a chat panel on the right side. Unlike ChatGPT-style standalone chat, this agent:
- Can see your pages (elements, structure, content density)
- Can modify elements directly via tool calls (add, update, remove)
- Respects your brand voice (pulls from the active persona automatically)
- Tracks page heights so it knows when to add new pages

Docs ship with themed design — colors, fonts, and layout presets inherit from your persona's visual identity. Switch themes with one click. Use $theme.xxx tokens for elements so they adapt automatically.
PDF export
The PDF export is real — not flat image layers. Every heading, paragraph, chart, and diagram is rendered via a structured element renderer with proper pagination, typography, and vector graphics where possible.

Pro tips
- Use the AI chat aggressively — it's faster to ask "revise this paragraph" than to rewrite manually.
- Regenerate individual chapters if one feels off. Coherence checking ensures the rewrite still fits the book flow.
- Upload illustrations ahead of time so the AI has real assets to reference in content.
