Deep Dive

8-node investigative research pipeline → fully-sourced script with evidence.

Deep Dive is VerityWriter's original pipeline — forensic-grade investigative research that produces a script with real citations.

The 8-node pipeline

1. Strategist → plans the investigation
2. Hunter → Perplexity + Exa + Tavily search
3. Analyst → synthesizes findings
4. Architect → outlines the narrative
5. Drafter → writes the script
6. Polisher → refines prose
7. Collector → YouTube, Google CSE, Wayback assets
8. Librarian → organizes sources into evidence bundle

Running an investigation

  1. Open Deep Dive in the sidebar.
  2. Click + New Investigation.
  3. Enter a topic (e.g., "The Theranos collapse", "OpenAI's board drama 2023").
  4. Pick:
    • Language — target output language
    • Writing style — Magnates Media (narrative business), ColdFusion (tech explainer), Investigative Journalism (source-driven), Academic (formal)
    • Word count tier — Quick (5K), Standard (10K), Deep (15K), Comprehensive (20K)
  5. Click Start Investigation.

The pipeline streams progress in real time. Expect 8-25 minutes depending on depth tier.

What you get back

  • Full script — split into sections, ready to hand off to a video editor
  • Evidence board — every claim linked to its source with confidence scores
  • Timeline — chronological event extraction
  • Source list — all URLs with archival backups (Wayback Machine)
  • Confidence report — which claims have multi-source confirmation

Brand voice integration

If you have an active Brand Persona, the voice brief is injected into the Drafter and Polisher prompts — so output sounds like you, not like a generic documentary narrator.

Output formats

  • PDF — full script + evidence
  • DOCX — for editor handoff
  • ZIP — script + evidence board + timeline + sources + confidence report

Export to Docs for further editing

You can open any completed investigation in Docs (Magazine Editor) for chapter-by-chapter refinement — useful if you want to restructure, add rich elements, or export as a magazine-style PDF.

Best for

  • Long-form YouTube video research
  • Substack/Medium investigative pieces
  • Documentary pre-production
  • Any content where source accuracy matters

Not ideal for

  • Short-form social posts (use Canvas instead — faster, cheaper)
  • Real-time news (pipeline takes 8-25 min — too slow for breaking stories)
  • Pure opinion pieces (Deep Dive is source-driven by design)
